If you're drinking mezcal con gusano, a close relative of tequilla, what's that thing lying there at the bottom of the bottle?

    It looks like my wedding ring. I have no idea how it got in there any more than I know what the hell happened to my pants.

  • That there is a worm. Mezcal con gusano in a bottle looks just like mountain dew soft drink, and counterfieters would do the dew. If a worm is put in the bottle mezcal con gusano will perserve it, while dew will disolve it.

  • This popular drink dates back to 1521 when Martin Luther was supoenaed by the Pope to attend the Diet of Worms. It never really caught on until the Spanish invaded Mexico, but it has become quite popular over the past 200 years. Some feel that this drink has been primarily responsible for stunting the growth of the Mexicans.
